The beginning

I really like reading this book. It is enjoyable, and it is easy to read. I thought you were just exaggerating. I am able to feel the characters thoughts and emotions, as well as relate to him. For example, when he goes to visit Veronica’s parents, he felt unaccepted and awkward. There was nothing to say and he regretted speaking more to the mom. Although not in the exact situation, this happens to everyone at one point or another. You never know how to act around new people. He was also confused with the relationship. Another example is the envy he felt from his friends when they met Veronica. Is this the reason he will no longer want to “go out” with her? They all loved her, so why would that hold him back? It seems to me that he is quite selfish. Everything always needs to be about him and he wants praise. He wants his friends to comment on his girlfriend, he wants to share his opinions. I am not sure if I am going to end up liking him. I really do not know what to expect from the book though. Is it a memoir? Is it going to just state different events in his life? As I read the back of the book, suspense built up in me. I now know he is going to summarize his life until the point that he is at.

I did find it unrealistic that Tony and his friends promised to be friends for the rest of their lives. Yet, he feels envy towards his friends. He is also different. He is apparently smarter and more serious. He makes them seem as they are inferior to him. For example, when he explains their situations with women he says that it is what they hint, not what they tell him. Do they find him inferior? I guess we will find out more.
