Wow (Rachael Marks)
This is honestly not what I was expecting (wow that sounded negative oddly- I meant that in a positive way). The Sense of An Ending is not exactly what I would expect to be reading in school. That is not to say I do not find it any good (I really like it). It seems more like a book I would have read on my own time, and it seems very fit to be a graphic novel. Just the way it is written I could see it translate well with pictures, speech bubbles, and captions. The characters are just so interesting. It really is so different from anything we have read this year (but of course at the same time it is not). I can tell just from the first few pages that this is going to be one hell of a story. Every year I have a single book that stands out to me as my favorite school book. Last year it was The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (SUCH A GOOD BOOK!), the year before was The Catcher in the Rye (I should read that again), then A Midsummer Night's Dream, then Lord of the Flies, and so on. I have a feeling that this book is going to be one of my favorites this year (plus Calvino was short stories not a novel). I am very happy and excited about this book. I am quite positive I will be finished with it long before tuesday. I do not know what else to say other than how excited I am. For the first time, while blogging, I find myself wanting to go back to reading as quickly as possible. So, I suppose I will go read more now! I will try to be more analytical next time, but then again this is a reaction... and this is my reaction (over-enthusiasm).
